For Mozart's 261st birthday, the Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella will dedicate a free concert to the composer.

Il Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella will pay tribute to Mozart, one of the most important classical music composers in history, with a free concert on the 27 2017 January.

It will be the Maestro Roberto De Simone to direct the evening, entitled "1756-2017: 261 but does not show them”On the occasion of the“ birthday ”of the musician from Salzburg, who in fact would celebrate his 261st birthday. De Simone is one of the symbolic personalities of Neapolitan culture in the world e will revisit Mozart's repertoire through a series of musical proposals that will reveal a fascinating surprise.

Mozart himself considered the Neapolitan music scene to be the cradle of Europe and Maestro De Simone will want to concentrate on "brilliant transgression of one of the greatest musicians in the history of music".
The show will take place in the Scarlatti Room in collaboration with the Association Mozart Italy of Naples, with all the forces of the Conservatory of Naples and the Choir and Orchestra of San Pietro a Majella formed by students and teachers.

Program

The evening program includes the performance of the following pieces:

  • Happy Birtdhday to Mozart by Roberto De Simone, for Coro and Orchestra directed by Francesco Vizioli, with Daniela Tortora and Stefano Valanzuolo interlocurers
  • Mozart and Salieri by A. Puskin translated by De Simone and declined in four parts with epilogue, with Biagio Abenante and Franco Javarone actors
  • "Come, come to the window" from Don Giovanni by Mozart transcribed by De Simone for bass tuba and mandolin interpreted by Pasquale Allegretti and Marcello Gentile
  • Exultate Jubilate (KV165) transcribed by De Simone for alto saxophone and orchestra, with Domenico Luciano on sax and the San Pietro a Majella Orchestra conducted by Domenico Schiano Lo Moriello
  • Incipit of the Requiem (KV 626), director Francesco Vizioli
  • A proposal by De Simone for the Cadences for the KV 466 Concert for Piano and Orchestra with Maria Gabriella Mariani at the piano
  • Allegrino-Alla turca from the KV 331 Piano Sonata transcribed by De Simone for clarinet, marimba and orchestra, performed by Francesco Filisdeo and Laura Mastrominico conducted by Francesco Vizioli with the San Pietro a Majella Orchestra
