The Dritto e Rovescio talk show, hosted by Paul Del Debbio, back on air Retequattro Thursday 23 March at 21:20. During the episode, ample space will be dedicated at the meeting of the European Council to be held in Brussels on 23 and 24 March, with particular attention to the issue of immigration.

The European Council and the issue of immigration

The European Council represents one of the main bodies of the European Union, responsible for defining the political guidelines and the general strategy of the Union.
The Council deals with matters of importance to the Union such as immigration, the economy, security and defence.

During the meeting on 23 and 24 March, European leaders will discuss various issues, among which the main theme will be the immigration problem.

Following the 2015 migrant crisis, the EU took special measures in order to manage the influx of asylum seekers and migrants more efficiently, improving the management of external borders and strengthening Italy's cooperation with third countries, but what has been done has not proved sufficient and this is where the the need for a new meeting.

In this context, Dritto e Rovescio will dedicate plenty of room for discussion on the topic of immigration, with expert guests who will provide their point of view on the issue.

The tax reform proposed by the Meloni government

The Meloni government presented a tax reform proposal which includes the reduction of taxes for companies and for the self-employed, as well as the introduction of a minimum wage.
This proposal sparked a heated debate between the parties majority and opposition.
