Traveling exhibition in several appointments organized to inform public opinion on the state of abandonment of the Cholerosis Cemetery

The Mother Church of the Cemetery of San Giorgio a Cremano, from 9.30 onwards to Sunday 13 October 2013, will see a traveling exhibition with the aim of drawing the attention of citizens and institutions on the scandalous and reprehensible situation in which the "Camposanto colerico" or "Cemetery of the colerosi"Of Cupa Vicinale Sant'Aniello currently more a landfill than a cemetery.

Built in 1836 by the then autonomous municipalities of San Giovanni a Teduccio, Barra, San Giorgio a Cremano, Portici and Ercolano constituted into one consortium. Abandoned then in the post-war period, it became known for the presence of the tomb of Macedonio Melloni, an eminent physicist who stood out in particular for some progressive ideas ahead of the times.

The mass graves and the thousands of graves of how many were the abandoned and disinherited of the municipalities belonging to the consortium and the many that mark the cholera disease, currently they fly in a state of total abandonment immersed in what is difficult to define differently from "illegal landfill".

The exhibition will be progressively set up in all the municipalities (and former ones) that took part in the consortium so as to draw the attention of the public opinion on the ignoble treatment that they obtained in life and that continues until today.
