In the location remembered, among many things, also for the famous film Welcome to the South, a fish-based gastronomic event is organized. From Friday 2 to Sunday 4 June 2023 the 12th edition of the Paranza Fish Festival 2023.
The festival will be hosted at the Villa Matarazzo in Santa Maria di Castellabate which provides many food stalls with specialties based on very fresh fish, but also WORKSHOPS and much more, all just a few steps from the Cilento Blue Flag seashore.
The activities of the Paranza Fish Festival
Le fish tastings they will be the fulcrum of the event, but there is also much more:
- food stands
- Our Labs handmade by
- Conferences on the sea and on Marine Protected Areas
- shows music
- Luna Park for children
- Show cooking of the "frying of paranza” in a very particular tool
- Performances by guests and stand-up comedians of national importance during the final of the 15th edition of the "Campania Festival - National Song Contest"
The fried fish prepared in the villa
One of the highlights of the Festival will be the preparation of the famous "fried fish", which will be cooked in one gigantic frying pan 4 meters in diameter. They will be used further 25 quintals of fish top quality, fished exclusively from the local fishing fleet e fried at the moment to be served to visitors during the three evenings of the event.
Also present the event of the 15th edition of the "Campania Festival – National Singing Competition“. The competition, reserved for the best emerging talents, will be divided into different categories, including Junior, Boys, Youth, Senior and Songwriters. Together with guests and nationally renowned stand-up comedians, participants will enjoy top-level musical performances.
Between celebration and… promotion of the territory
The importance of the event goes far beyond mere appearance culinary: it also aims to promote the Cilento area and to encourage fishing activity, which constitutes the main sector of the local economy.
