Somma Vesuviana is ready to host a new edition of the prestigious Lucerne Festival, in a weekend to be experienced in one breath.
Everything is ready for the extraordinary return of the Lucerne Festival, an event that enchants citizens and tourists every four years Somma Vesuviana. From 3 to 5 August 2018, the charming medieval village of Casamale it will be the ideal background for a weekend dedicated to the rediscovery of timeless traditions. Among festively decorated alleys, lots of good food and the presence of the inevitable lights that can irradiate the main streets of the Neapolitan town, it will be three days to live.
Tradition requires that, at sunset, a man and a woman light up the first of the lamps. Little by little, the streets of the village light up thanks to hundreds of oil lamps and are decorated with chestnut branches, pumpkins and ferns. The climax will come in the evening of August 5th with the heartfelt celebration of the Our Lady of the Snows, whose statue is carried in procession through the streets of the small community.
