Formula 1: preview and where to see the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

The second leg of the Formula 1 season will take place this weekend in Saudi Arabia, with the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Here's everything you need to know to follow the event.

The Jeddah Circuit: where it is, how it is made and what are the critical points

The Jeddah Circuit, located on the shores of the Red Sea, is where the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will be held. This it is the first time that the circuit hosts a Formula 1 race, and the layout was specifically designed to be the fastest of the season, with an expected maximum speed of 322 km/h.

A demanding circuit: how Jeddah is structured

Jeddah Circuit presents 27 curves, of which 11 on the right and 16 on the left. This makes it one of the most demanding circuits on the Formula 1 calendar, the pilots will have to rely on their skill to get a good result.

Furthermore, the presence of 90 degree bends and narrow sections could lead to crashes, making the race even more interesting to follow.

The program and where to follow the race

The action will kick off on Friday 18 March with free practice 1 and 2, followed by free practice 3 and qualifying on Saturday 19 March.

Sunday's race will start at 18:00 local time (16:00 CET). Fans will be able to follow the race on various platforms, including Sky Sport Uno, Sky Sport F1, Sky Sport 4K, and also in streaming on NOW.

Also, the race will be broadcast at 21.30 on TV8.

The Battle for Victory After his victory in the first stage of the championship in Bahrain, Max Red Bull Racing's Verstappen will start the race as favourite for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

However, the Ferraris of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, as well as the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton, are always a threat and ready to battle for victory.

When and where to watch the competition live

To follow the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on television, it will be possible tune in to the exclusive live coverage of Sky Sports, while reruns will be available on TV channel 8 of digital terrestrial.
The race will take place over the weekend from 17 to 19 March.

Below are the times of the live broadcast on Sky Sport and those of the reruns on TV 8.

Practice, qualifying and race times

Free practice 1 will take place Friday 17 March at 14:30, followed by free practice 2 at 18:00. Saturday March 18, will be held free practice 3 at 14:30, followed by qualifications at 18:00.

The race will start Sunday 19 March at 18:00.

The delayed transmission on TV8

The qualifications will be broadcast later on TV8 at 21:00 on Saturday 18 March, while the race will always be broadcast on TV8 at 20:00 on Sunday 19 March.
