The 11th edition of the National Day of Urban Trekking will also take place in Naples with walks in the streets of the Neapolitan liberty
The National Day of Slow Tourism this year reaches its 11th edition, also celebrating a particular anniversary: i 100 years since the beginning of the First World War. In fact, this year's theme will be “Remembering and retracing our history 100 years after the Great War”.
Most commonly known also as Urban Trekking Day, this initiative aims to discover and rediscover the artistic, historical and archaeological beauties of 33 city of our country, giving the right importance also to the natural beauties of the Italian territory.
Of course it could not be missing Napoli in our list, our city rich in treasures from every era. The walks on foot of this trek will be divided into levels of different difficulty, but always accessible to all and that will offer participants an alternative and more sporting way of living their city.
As explained by the organizers, “Urban Trekking is a new way of doing tourism, less structured and far from traditional circuits. It is a form of sustainable tourism e vagabonding, freer and full of surprises that favors the most hidden and least known corners of the Italian cities of art ”. So much so that the trekker will be able to immerse themselves in art and nature, doing at the same time sport activity.
The day, or rather the days, will take place from 31 October to 2 November 2014, and in Campania are the cities of Naples and Salerno to have currently officially joined.
In Naples it will be an opportunity to immerse yourself in liberty. In fact, the real protagonists of the Urban Trekking days will be the structures of theNeapolitan architecture of the early decades of the twentieth century, with the sinuous and panoramic streets of the Vomero and Chiaia districts.
