At the New Theater Sanità debuts "I Kiwi di Napoli", a show by the German playwright Philippe Löhle, which will also be staged in Marseille.
debut Tuesday 15 January 2019 lo spettacolo Kiwis of Naples written by the German playwright Philippe Löhle within the project Cities on the Edge made by Goethe-Institut of Naples and Marseille. This is a project of international artistic cooperation involving ten realities operating in the field of theater, dance and music and carrying out their activities in areas defined as marginal or uncomfortable in Italy, France and Germany. Indeed, after the Neapolitan debut, the 18 January the show will be staged in Marseille, at the Friche la Belle de Mai.
On stage, the actors of the company under 30 'ntS', Vincenzo Antonucci, Luigi Bignone, Anna De Stefano, Carlo Geltrude, Salvatore Nicolella, Alessandro Palladino, Federica Totaro, Beatrice Vento, while adaptation and direction are by Carlo Geltrude.
Kiwis of Naples, three stories about the fears of young people in the city
Lo spettacolo Kiwis of Naples born as a result of a residence led by the German playwright Philipp Löhle at New Health Theater, in January 2017. Together with the young actors of the company he visited Naples and interviewed them, trying to understand what they are the fears that most affect the new generations of the city and to cross the thin veil of the commonplace that exists between Italian and German culture.
Löhle has transformed this material into a starting point for his work, focused on a story whose protagonists are three stories of a group of young people that even if at the beginning they appear independent of each other, they find in the end a red thread that unites them.
The three stories tell three emergencies, three types of fear that torment the protagonists: the fear of not finding work and of being able to carry out in one's own city; the fear that organized crime can occupy and manage in some way its own life and atavistic fear, that which we inherit from generations, represented by the big, dormant mountains that can wake up at any moment.
