A theatrical show set in the underground Neapolis: a journey into the afterlife to meet the disturbing presences of the underground world of the San Lorenzo Maggiore Complex!
On Saturday 28 December 2019 at 19:00 pm the theatrical itinerary The Ghost of Christmas Past will be staged in the beautiful Monumental Complex of San Lorenzo Maggiore.
The show, organized by the NarteA cultural association, will allow all guests to participate in this fantastic itinerary that will take place in the rooms of the underground Neapolis .
The Ghost of the past Christmas
For this show, the author Fabio Quercia was inspired by the ideas expressed in Roberto De Simone's Cantata dei Pastori , which tells how Christmas belongs to the cycle of winter festivals of pagan origin, during which exchanges and relationships with the underworld take place.
During the Ghost of Christmas Past, the audience will be led into the underground chambers of San Lorenzo Maggiore, where ancient Neapolis once stood, and will encounter the disturbing presences that inhabit this world where past and present, but also Christianity and paganism, merge.
Indeed, one of the guardians of the souls in Purgatory will pave the way for the return of some characters linked to Naples's past history, just as the Ghost of Christmas Past, described by Dickens in A Christmas Carol, does. Reservations are required to participate.
