Il 17th April, Canale Cinque will launch the new edition of The Island of the Famous. But the latest news on the official cast have surprised many, as some names taken for granted until a few days ago were excluded from the list of the 16 competitors who will leave for Honduras.
The five excluded from the initial cast
Among the characters who seemed to have reached an agreement with the program, five were excluded at the last moment. Below is the list of those excluded:
- Gianmarco Onestin: Big Brother 16 contestant
- Serena Enardu: influencer and former tronista of men and women.
- Elga Enardu: former tronista of Men and Women.
- Luca DiCarlo: world-renowned criminal lawyer.
- Gian Maria Sainato: model and influencer.
The reasons for the exclusions
According to the reporter Alberto Dandolo, an expert on television background stories, the decision to exclude these characters from the initial cast would have been dictated by a diktat imposed by top management Mediaset. After the controversial path of Big Brother Vip 7, the executives of Cologno Monzese would have decided not to bet excessively on gossip and on the little theaters, while maintaining an interesting show.
Possibility of future repechage
Despite the exclusions, it cannot be excluded that some of the names not present among the 16 castaways may have a second chance in the coming weeks. In fact, L'Isola dei Famosi is notorious for the injuries, disqualifications and dropouts that occur during the program, making it necessary the entry of new competitors.
