The warm autumn of the sea in Santa Chiara, tasting of seasonal fish

For two days the courtyard of the Monastery of Santa Chiara will be transformed into a village of seafarers between tastings of fresh fish and debates on the sea

From 17 today 18 October and until tomorrow it will be held in the evocative setting of Courtyard of the Monastery of Santa Chiara the first edition of the event "The warm autumn of the sea".

The courtyard will be transformed, for the occasion, into a real one village of marinari, and the historic fishing communities that have always brought their catch to Naples will meet there for the first time.

The warm autumn of the sea is two days dedicated to the sea and to those who live by the sea. A pretext to return to the sea its central role as a resource of the city from which to start again to recover a common identity, but also a wish to overcome the dramatic detachment that the urban modernization process has imposed on local culture, denying the relationship of the historic city with the sea.

Event attendees will have the opportunity to taste the seasonal fish proposed by the marineries involved, in agreement with the historic restaurateurs of the historic center, and in the stand inside the cloister, the “Slow food” convoy of Sapri will allow you to taste fish such as lampuca and leccia. The Calabrian seafarers, on the other hand, in collaboration with the restaurateurs of Santa Chiara will prepare "u ragu cu allitterat'o", while the cozzaroli of Castelvolturno with the "Santa Chiara" committee will cook "beans with cozzica". Between fried food and seafood, you will be made to taste all the fish that is born and lives in our seas.

19:00 will start the tastings all based on seafood

Sunday 19 October 2014

10:00 am, games, gadgets for the little ones, and it will still be possible to taste the fish delicacies.
In the afternoon, activities for children and educational fishmongers will continue
17:00, conference "Legality and consumption" in which the issues related to critical consumption will be dealt with. The interventions of the Councilor for production activities, Enrico Panini, the Councilor for Tourism and Culture, Nino Daniele, the President of the CAAN (Centro Agroittico Alimentare Napoli), Lorenzo Diana, and Francesco Primerano of the Food and Communication cooperative are expected. A Tango show will close the evening.
