Origami workshops, literary meetings and Japanese animated films with the event "The Empire of Signs" in Naples!
From January 29 to 5 February 2016, at the Scugnizzo Liberato (building of the former Filangieri juvenile prison), the event will take place The empire of signs, dedicated to Japanese culture.
The title of the event is taken from a famous essay by Roland Barthes, written during the three journeys in which the French writer and semiologist was fascinated by the particular Japanese writing, made of signs that are difficult to understand but which have an explicit meaning.
During these five free meetings, organized by the NaDir association, we will make a trip to the Rising Sun through the manga comics drawn by the Italian Vincenzo Filosa, of the poems of impromptu collective performance of the Fantasmatica association, the workshop on the beautiful origami held by Alessandro Ripepi and the projection of the animated films made in Japan, like Princess Mononoke and The Tomb of the Fireflies.
Finally it could not miss a toast made with the scugnizzo aperitif, all Neapolitan specialties!
