Italy is in the grip of the “La Promessa” mania, the Spanish soap opera which is capturing the attention of viewers.
Transmitted exclusively for Italy on Canale 5 from Mediaset at 14 pm, the series began shooting its compelling stories on La 1, one of the most popular TV networks in Spain, starting in January 2023.
Setting and characters of The Promise
Immersed in the suggestive scenery of Córdoba in 1913, "The Promise" transports us to a historical era marked by deep global crises. At the center of the events we find the La Promesa estate, the main place where the crucial events of the plot take place.
The protagonist is the young Jana Exposito, played by the talented Ana Garces, a maid who gets hired by the Marquises of Lujan, owners of the land adjacent to the estate, after a fortuitous meeting with Manuel, a key character played by Arturo Sancho.
Discovering the Past: Jana's Secret
The reason that drives Jana to work for the Marquises of Lujan is far from accidental. She carries with her a heavy burden linked to his past: fifteen years earlier, in fact, shis mother was brutally killed and his younger brother disappeared without a trace. The Promesa is the only connection Jana has to this unsolved mystery, and she is determined to uncover the truth. But the heart has plans for her, and unexpected love for Manuel it could complicate things…
The series is spread over two seasons, with an impressive total of 241 episodes, the result of the work of Bambù Producciones, in collaboration with StudioCanal and RTVE.

In the last episode of the week, after the murder of Tomas and the arrest of Lola, Alonso rounds up all the servants to call them to order and prevent them from spreading gossip that could damage the reputation of the Lujans.
