The Turkish TV series "Kurt Seyit ve Şura", known in Italy as "The girl and the officer", will soon arrive on Canale 5. Composed of two seasons and 21 episodes of 90 minutes each, it will be broadcast during the summer, occupying the early evening slot on Fridays.
Plot and historical context of “The Girl and the Officer”
Set during the first World War, the series tells the love story between lieutenant Kurt Seyt, belonging to a wealthy Crimean family, and Sura, daughter of a noble Russian family.
The war events e the Bolshevik Revolution they will put their love to the test, forcing them to flee across the Black Sea to reach Istanbul and face further challenges.

The series boasts a talented cast that brings the main and secondary characters to life. Among these also Demet Özdemir, known to the Italian public for the role of Sanem Aydın in the series "DayDreamer - The wings of the dream" (Erkenci Kuş) who plays Alya.

Production and direction
The series, based on the novel of the same name by Nermin Bezmen, was written by Ece Yörenç and directed by Hilal Saral. In Turkey, the series was broadcast on Star TV from 4 March to 20 November 2014.
When will it come out in Italy?
Channel 5 will include "The Girl and the Officer" in its summer schedule, thus allowing Italian spectators to follow the adventures of the protagonists and immerse themselves in the historical context of the First World War and the Russian revolution.
The exact date is not yet clear start of the broadcast, but it is presumable that it will happen between late June and early July, in conjunction with the Terra Amara summer break.
