This prestigious certification is issued to "networks that promote shared European culture, history and memory" e The Route of Aeneas is one of these.
The Route of Aeneas
21 will be the main stages e 5 countries of this wonderful itinerary that retraces the journey performed by Aeneas, the Greek hero, and which is recounted in the wonderful epic poem by Virgilio, or the Aeneid.
The itinerary starts from Turkey and comes up in Italy, where it will involve 5 regions, that is Apulia, Sicily, Calabria, Campania e Lazio, where it will end in the capital, Rome. During the trip we will cross the wonderful landscapes of the Mediterranean and therefore also the Campi Flegrei in Naples.
Our city, Naples, with the Campi Flegrei, is often cited in Virgil's poem and among the most important episodes of the story we remember the meeting between the Greek hero, Aeneas, and the Cumaean Sibyl.
Together with Italy and Turkey, the other three countries involved in this incredible journey are there Greece, Albania, Tunisia, places rich in history and wonderful places.
