Roberta Rei's service on the story of Elaheh Tavakolian
The report on "Reservoir Dogs" on Elaheh Tavakolian, conducted by Roberta Rei, launched a appeal to the public to help the young woman to finance medical care necessary for the eye injury he sustained during the anti-government demonstration.
Thanks to donations from the public, 14.500 euros were raised which will be used to support his cause.
The service also has highlighted the political and social situation in Iran, where women often do not enjoy the same rights as men and are subject to discrimination and violence.
The story of Elaheh Tavakolian has become a symbol of the struggle for women's rights in a country where freedom and democracy are severely limited.
