The San Paolo Stadium in Naples will be named after Diego Armando Maradona!

The news of death of Diego Armando Maradona has grieved the whole city of Naples, and beyond, and many have remembered the great footballer all over the world.

To honor his memory definitively, however, the request to dedicate the current San Paolo Stadium to him, to our Diego Armando Maradona. The proposal was welcomed with great enthusiasm by the mayor of Naples Luigi De Magistris who said he intended to do so.

Even the President of Calcio Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis he seems inclined to dedicate the stadium to the Pibe De Oro. Indeed, he was one of the first to request it.

We remember Diego during the Europa League match

Meanwhile, one of the first events in his memory will be the broadcast of images with his best actions before the Europa League Napoli-Rijeka match, which will be played tonight on Thursday 26 November 2020 at the San Paolo stadium. Always before the match, the whole city will remember Maradona with a big applause.

Yesterday, however, the stadium lights stayed on all night to remember the great champion.
