Il 26 March 2023 the account Twitter Mediaset official, @QuiMediaset_it, was at the center of a controversial episode. After sharing a series of offensive tweets, the account was temporarily suspended and subsequently reopened, sparking controversy and questioning.
The whole had start when, in reply to a tweet by blogger Fabio Fabbretti regarding a video message from Barbara d'Urso for Gabriella Labate and Mara Venier, the Mediaset account posted a offensive comment. The outrage of users was not long in coming, and the tweet was quickly removed. But it screenshot of the message went around the web, fueling indignation and controversy.
Following the accident, Here Mediaset reported having suffered a hacker attack and to be able to experience malfunctions of the account. The account was then temporarily Off, while on other social networks the channel has never closed.
Solidarity with the women directly affected by these offenses, even if it is easy to imagine who they might be.

The reactions
Mara Venier, affected by the offensive tweet, ha reacted publishing the screenshot of the offending message twice, accompanying it with a sarcastic song by Sylvie Vartan. Barbara d'Urso, instead, he decided not to comment on the episode.
Apologies from Mediaset
Il 27 March 2023, almost 24 hours after the incident, the @QuiMediaset_it account reopened its doors on Twitter. Mediaset issued a statement apologizing for the incident, calling it "very serious"and "shameful“. However, the names of those involved were not mentioned in the text. Finally, the company has reassured the followers that the operating conditions of the profile have been restored.
