Metro line 7 of Naples to Monte Sant'Angelo: the sculpture by Anish Kapoor has been completed
The funnel-shaped sculpture by Anish Kapoor that will be the entrance to metro line 7 of Monte Sant'Angelo in Naples has been completed!
La sculpture that characterizes the 7 metro station in Naples, in the university complex of Monte Sant'Angelo, it is finally over and the 9 October 2017 was inaugurated.
The work, created byAnglo-Indian architect Anish Kapoor, is formed of corten steel and is a sort of inverted funnel. It will be from entry to the underground part of the station and it is one of the two works of this artist that will be positioned in the metro. Indeed, the the second will then be placed at the Rione Traiano station.
We recall that the pieces of this funnel were brought to Naples from Holland and, only once they arrived in the city, were they assembled by the workers.
After about 7 years of work, an important piece of metro line 7 was completed and theinauguration of the station will take place in the 2019. In the meantime, the construction of the escalator that will connect the station to the University is planned by December 2017
