A great news for the city of Naples: the source of the zuffregna water reappears during the works on the Molo Beverello!

The city of Napoli becomes the protagonist of a second important discoveryIn fact, only a month ago, during the works for the new maritime station an ancient pier of about 50 meters was found, probably dating back to the Bourbon era.

Here this time, during the same works, the Port Authority found itself in front of it, after 500 years, to the ancient river Beverellum, or the river that carried the sulphurous water, the famous water scuffle, so defined for the high concentration of hydrogen sulfide which turns out to be really a cure-all for the skin and the immune system.

The source of the water brawls

It seems that in ancient times this water "miraculous " was loved by everyone, in fact around 1600 many Spanish tankers arrived in Naples to stock up on this water.

In the city the sulphurous water was distributed with the mummify, or the famous clay amphorae with two handles and a cork. The two public sources from which the water was taken were located in Chiatamone and the other between the Royal Palace and the Maschio Angioino.

Subsequently, when the Cholera in Naples, the sources were closed due to the lack of health checks.
