Weekend dedicated to music in the evocative setting of the Naples Underground Museum! Sound journeys between choral music and manouche jazz

A new event will be presented at the Museo del Sottosuolo in Naples, taking place in the evocative tuff setting of the site. The two-night concert will take place on June 28th and 29th.

The "Trame di Suono" concert will take place in the Museum's tunnels and cisterns during the first evening, and will be performed by the Società Polifonica della Pietrasanta. It will be a true sonic journey, divided into several stages, leading the listener into a musical space that virtually embraces the choir.

The program will begin with "Ponetemente" by composer Lorenzo Donati, and move on to the spatial and musical divisions between small and large choirs by Biebl and Britten, passing through the delicate harmonies of Di Marino and Panariello. The musical "journey" will be performed in several languages, including the French of the celebrated poet Prevert , two of whose poems will be set to music by Davide Liani.

On Saturday 29 June, it will be the turn of Jazz with “Mario Romano Quartieri Jazz – 'E Strade cà Portano a Mare” , a trio playing string instruments, composed of manouche guitarist Mario Romano, classical guitarist Gianluca Capurro and bassist Ciro Imperato.

The aim of the musical group is to combine traditional manouche jazz with the sounds of Neapolitan culture. During the evening, songs such as "Mambo Italiano ," rearranged in a Neapolitan gypsy-jazz style, "Walzer alla Madonna," and "Rum e Speranzella" will be performed.
