Weekend dedicated to music in the evocative setting of the Naples Underground Museum! Sound journeys between choral music and manouche jazz

Al Museum of the Underworld of Naples will be presented a new event that will take place in the evocative setting in tuff of the place. There will be two concerts evening to be held on 28 and 29nd June.

The concert "Sound Textures" will take life in the tunnels and cisterns of the Museum, during the early evening, and will be performed by the Pietrasanta Polyphonic Society. It will be a real sound journey, divided into different stages, which will lead the listener in a musical space that will virtually embrace the chorus.

We will start from "Ponetemente", by the composer Lorenzo Donati, to get to the spatial and musical divisions, between small and large choir, of Biebl and Britten, passing through the delicate harmonies of Di Marino and Panariello. The musical “journey” will be performed in several languages, including the famous poet's French Prevert, of which two poems will be performed by Davide Liani.

Saturday 29 June, however, will be the turn of the Jazz with the "Mario Romano Jazz Neighborhoods - 'E Strade cà Portano a Mare", a trio that plays stringed instruments, composed by the manouche guitarist Mario Romano, the classical guitarist Gianluca Capurro and the bassist Ciro Imperato.

The aim of the musical education is to unite the traditional jazz of the manouche imprint with the sounds of the Neapolitan culture. During the evening will be performed songs like "Italian mambo", rearranged in a Neapolitan gypsy-jazz key, "Walzer alla Madonna" and "Rum and Speranzella".
