A fun Neapolitan Tombola dramatized on stage at the Galleria Toledo for Christmas parties
La tombola in Naples it is not just a game. It is a "lifestyle" that accompanies Neapolitans throughout the year, always ready to associate the numbers (those from 1 to 90 of course) with meanings, "Numerical strologature".
In Naples, when bingo is played at Christmas, whoever extracts the number from the "panariello" says "The dead man who speaks, 48" and not vice versa, as if in the mind of every inhabitant of the city there was an extravagant numbering made up of symbols and metaphors and not numbers.
The game itself of the tombola represents a theatrical operation, where those who "stage" and the "spectators" who listen by pointing the numbers on their cards, are part of a single ritual that mixes creativity, improvisation and spontaneity, where “Philosophy, divination, questioning oneself about the future of the world and the search for one's own small fortune are mixed”.
Similarly at the Toledo Gallery of Naples will be on stage, during the Christmas holidays, Nummere. Scostumatissima Neapolitan Tombola, where actors and spectators will have fun together with the ancient Neapolitan bingo, theatricalized and made even more spectacular.
A witch Neapolitan popolana (interpreted by Gino Curcione) will interweave, around the numbers drawn, of the imaginative stories, inventions and found, staging a real linguistic happening “Which starts from the neutral abstractness of the numbers, to translate into the most vibrant experience of the alleys (at Christmas, especially in the Spanish Quarters)”. The spectators who will win ambos, terne, quaterne, cinquine and tombole, will be called on stage, subjected to ironic provocations and exuberant jokes.
