Two shows at the Nuovo Teatro Sanità to pay homage to the Neapolitan dramatist Manlio Santanelli for his 80 years.
The famous Neapolitan dramatist Manlio Santanelli 80 will perform the next 11 February and, for the occasion, the New Health Theater of Naples he will pay homage to him with a week of events dedicated to his theater.
It will begin Wednesday February 7 2018 with the show Trial of an author - Manlio Santanelli at the bar, and will continue over the weekend, from 9 to 11 February 2018 with the debut of an unpublished text by Manlio Santanelli, entitled Request for desire.
Here follows in detail the information related to both events that will be held in the frame of the New Health Theater, in the heart of the characteristic district of Naples.
Trial to an author - Manlio Santanelli at the bar
Wednesday 7 February 2018 at 20: 30 at the Nuovo Teatro Sanità, the Process to an author, who will see Manlio Santanelli "at the bar", to have submitted a trial on his work as a playwright, conducted by Edgardo Bellini and Mario Gelardi, in the role of public prosecutors.
The actors Federica Aiello, Roberto Azzurro, Fabio Cocifoglia, Marina Confalone, Isa Danieli, Michele Danubio, Gea Martire, Nello Mascia, will present in their favor, passing through the most important texts of the Santanellian dramaturgy, as Emergency exit, Queen Mother, Fixed star aberration e My heart in your hands. Some of his stories adapted for the scene will also be read, such as The Venus of earthquakes, staged by Roberto Azzurro.
A brief preview of the show will close the evening Request for desire, unpublished text by Santanelli, produced by the Nuovo Teatro Sanità.

Request for desire, an unpublished text by Manlio Santanelli
Friday February 9 2018 21 pminstead, it will debut Request for desire, unpublished text of Manlio Santanelli, produced by the Nuovo Teatro Sanità, interpreted by Federica Aiello and Michele Danubio e directed by Mario Gelardi; the costumes are by Alessandra Gaudioso, the lights of Alessandro Messina.
The show will replicate Saturday 10 February 2018 at 21 e Sunday 11 February at 18.
Request for desire focuses on the conjugal life of Tommaso and Emilia, a middle-aged couple looking for breathless new stimuli to carry on their relationship. It will break in their habit, after a lunch like many others, a strange request: an old school friend of hers asks permission to want her.
Mario Gelardi, director of the show, explained the text with these words: "What if not fantasy canò renew l'interest between the two? cos'other if not the game el'irony può bring the color of life back into a couple that looks a bit' off? Santanelli's writing here becomes fast and bounces between the two characters, just like a crazy ping pong ball. A real musical phrasing like a Mozart opera ».
