The film "It was the hand of God” achieved great success and toured the world making Naples even more international. Paolo Sorrentino chooses his city again for his new feature film, this time it will be based on one of the greatest Neapolitan traditions: the Parthenope siren.

In reality, the Siren will only be a starting point of Paolo Sorrentino's film. The new title, whose name is unknown since it is still Work in progress, would go to get their hands on various Neapolitan eras, passing yes from Partenope and then sink them into other eras traveling through time and touching on themes such as that of San Gennaro.

Some of the ones already seem to have been chosen main actors of this upcoming film by Sorrentino, like Giampiero De Concilio (already met in "Un giorno all'Sudno" and "Gomorra 5") and for the siren the choice fell on a Neapolitan model whose name is still secret.

Le shooting they haven't started yet, they should start the 2023 summer and the main places will be the seafront, Castel dell'Ovo, Borgo Marinari, the historic centre, the university, the cathedral.

Will the plot of the film be based on the myth of the Partenope siren?

We don't know exactly if the plot will tell the tragic story of the mermaid Partenope. In this case, the legend narrates that the siren killed herself by throwing herself into the sea after Ulysses' refusal. Her body was found lifeless near the islet Megaride where the Castel dell'Ovo currently stands.
