The Flavian Amphitheater in Pozzuoli (Naples)

The Amphitheater
The Flavio Amphitheater, built to replace the oldest and lesser amphitheater of the Augustea age, recalls the Colosseum for its architectural layout and for the choice of materials as it was built by the same architects.
The amphitheater was designed to host events for the Puteolan population through the staging of shows e fighting full of scenery, as evidenced by the large central pit and the complex system of lifting cages with beasts.
None of the amphitheaters of antiquity has been preserved as fully as the puteolan one, in fact both the arena and the subterranean Perfect conditions giving this impressive building a deeply evocative character.
