The park
The Vesuvius National Park, born in the 1995, develops around the Vesuvius and receives a remarkable variety of species of flora and fauna.
In the park they are passable 9 trails:
- The valley of hell
- Octavian's Cognoli
- Mount Somma
- The Tirone-Alto Vesuvio Reserve
- The Gran Cono (crater)
- The Matrone Road
- The Vallone della Profica
- The cogwheel train
- The Lava river
Information on the Vesuvius National Park
Opening time:
- January - February 09: 00 - 15: 00
- March - October 09: 00 - 16: 00
- April - May - June - September 09: 00 - 17: 00
- July - August 09:00 - 18:00
- November - December 09: 00 - 15: 00
- The access path to the crater is open every day at the times indicated, even on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays
- In case of bad weather or force majeure, the ascent to the crater can be suspended
Price tickets:
- For the Grand Cono, € 10. The route starts from the square at 1000 altitude slm in Ercolano (free for children below 1,20 mt only if accompanied by parents).
- 8 € for school students of all levels, university students with a presentation letter signed by the Headmaster;
- Consult the site of the Parco del Vesuvio for the other goals

- From Piazza Garibaldi: Circumvesuviana to Ercolano, then the EAV bus that reaches Vesuvius.
