Villa Comunale of Naples

The villa
The splendid Villa Comunale is one of the most important historic gardens of the city and covers an area of about 110.000 m2 along the marvelous waterfront of Naples. Its construction dates back to 1780 when King Ferdinand IV of Bourbon decided to give the city a villa that was inspired by the "Tuilieries" of Paris, places of walking and meeting place for the nobility.
Inside you can admire a rich variety of valuable botanical species, among which there are palm trees, holm oaks, pines and eucalyptus trees.
The equipment
The Villa is equipped with rest areas, play areas for children, toilets, skating ring, possibility to ride a bike, a Harmonic Box, Anton Dohrn Aquarium (the oldest in Europe) and an outdoor car park.
