The excavations
Pollena Trocchia, a small municipality located on the slopes of Mount Somma, in the eighties during construction works returned ruins of spa facilities, datable to the II century AD, and housing dating, however, to a moment after the eruption of the 472 AD
The area, abandoned following the discovery, remained in this state until 2006. Starting from that year, the"Apolline Project" he is engaged in the reclamation and in the next full archaeological excavation, which still continues today.
