Everything Everywhere All At Once looks to be the favorite to win, having won at Directors Guild Awards, the Producers Guild Awards and the SAG.
However, the German film Nothing new on the western front he surprisingly won 7 Baftas including Best Picture and Director. Many think that at the end of the race, Martin McDonagh's film could finish third, while Top Gun: Maverick e The Fabelmans they seem to be out of the running after the defeats received.
Who can win the Oscar for best director? Here are the favourites
For Best Director Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert are considered the favourites always with Everything Everywhere All At Once following their wins at the Critics' Choice Awards and Directors Guild Awards.
However, to the Baftas they were beaten by German director Edward Berger for Nothing new on the western front, which, however, is not nominated for an Oscar in this section (but it is in the best films).
There are therefore two possibilities: either the Daniels will win overwhelmingly from every point of view or opportunities will open up for Steven Spielberg with The Fabelmans, who won the Golden Globe for directing.
