The Royal Palace of Carditello , whose full name is Reale Tenuta di Carditello, is part of a group of 22 sites belonging to the Bourbon family of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, which were used as places of leisure or hunting but which also featured interesting entrepreneurial achievements such as the Caiazzo pheasant farms, the silk production in San Leucio, the fishing at Fusaro, the farms of the Persano Estate and the Calvi State Property and finally the porcelain factory.

After years of neglect, the Bourbon site has been taken over by the Real Sito di Carditello Foundation, which, in collaboration with Agenda 21, will organize free guided tours every Saturday and Sunday from January 8, 2017, until June 25, 2017 , as well as various activities to bring the public closer to this royal palace, strongly desired by Ferdinand IV and built by a student of Vanvitelli. The guided tours had been interrupted due to necessary preservation work, which will continue this year in the form of restoration.

The guided tour will include the rooms on the first floor of the central neoclassical building and the outdoor spaces , with particular attention to the hippodrome with its small centrally planned temple, designed by architect Francesco Collencini, a student of Luigi Vanvitelli.

Reservations are required for guided tours . Groups of up to 25 people are permitted , with tours departing every 30 minutes.
