La Fiction Stay with me, with Francis Ark, Laura Adriani and Mario Di Leva, is preparing to conclude its first season with the final episode broadcast on Monday 3 April. But fans of the series needn't worry, as it was confirmed a second season.
The success of the fiction, based on the idea of Maurizio De Giovanni and directed by Monica Vullo, led to the decision of renew the series, despite the fact that the events had already closed and concluded in the first season.
The official confirmation came from the manufacturer Charles Degli Esposti in a TV interview, Smiles and Songs:
“They're already writing it,” he said of season two.
The return of Francesco Arca in the role of Alessandro Scudieri in the second season
Viewers will be able to continue following the story of the courageous deputy commissioner Alessandro Scudieriplayed by Francesco Arca. The actor said he loved the character:
The character of Alessandro also helped me bring out my personal weaknesses. I don't like it when they label me "hard", I would like to be able to show and make people love even a man's weaknesses, and this is in the character. In general for me the sets always go beyond the professional experience: they really change my life. […] As for Mario Di Leva, who plays little Diego, he is a force of nature. When I was pissed off about the mishaps that happen on a set, he was the one who said to me: “Brother, what are you doing? Think about the important things!”.
The choice of Francesco Arca and the success of the series
Producer Carlo Degli Esposti praised the choice of Francesco Arca as the protagonist of Stay with me. In the second season, the actor will obviously return in the role of Alessandro Scudieri, and the producer said:
For Francesco Arca I relived the same emotions I had felt over 20 years ago when we chose Luca Zingaretti for "Montalbano". A great faith in the talent of an actor who has already grown a lot and will continue to do so. He has expressive breadth and the audience noticed it. He is one of the strengths of this series.
