The small town of San Marco dei Cavoti, in the province of Benevento, is known for the production of Nougat, one of the typical specialties of the local tradition.
Every year an event dedicated to this delicious delicacy is held at the 2001 Festa del Torrone and Croccantino which, in the period of December, attracts a large number of tourists from all over Campania.
The Feast of Torrone and Torroncino of San Marco dei Cavoti will be held again this year, from December 6 8 all'2013, to celebrate the Immaculate Conception, e in the 14 and 15 December 2013 days, transforming the country into a real village of sweetness, where a wonderful delicacy reigns made of a harmony of hazelnuts, almonds and chocolate.
Megacroccantino, the longest torrone in the world made in San Marco dei Cavoti
Stands will be set up on all the old streets of the village where it will be possible taste the nougat produced by seven sweet houses protagonists of the territory of San Marco, but also other local specialties, such as meats, cheeses, honey, oil, roast pork, roasted chestnuts, roasted chestnuts, chocolate, zeppole and local wine.
