In the center of Naples will open Sfogliacampanella with sfogliatelle with a heart of babà. At the inauguration, free sweets for everyone!
Monday January 2 2017 in via San Biagio dei Librai, in the historic center of Naples, will open Sfogliacampanella, the first single-product store in Italy dedicated to sweets created by Vincenzo Ferrieri (son of Salvatore, founder of SfogliateLab, a cult shop of Neapolitan pastry). And for the inauguration there will be free sfogliatelle for everyone.
La Campanella is a sweet 2 in 1 (the babà in the sfogliatella) that has already conquered the hearts of all those people who have tasted it in the Sfogliatelab offices or in the various fairs of Campania and have been bewitched by the delicacy of this product.
It is a bell-shaped sfogliatella filled with melted chocolate and ricotta cream that contains a heart of babà. This dessert is currently known different variants including dark chocolate, white chocolate, coffee, pistachio, orange, panettone and apple annurca. The store will be one cooking show where the customer can choose at the time of purchase the type of filling that suits him best, there will also be a corner bar where you can enjoy a good Neapolitan coffee that always goes well with any dessert and a space where it will be shown how the classic sfogliatella.
La sfogliatella was born in monastery of Santa Rosa located between Furore and Conca dei Marini around the 1600. Legend has it that a nun, assigned to the kitchens, had advanced semolina cooked in milk and not to throw it away decided to add the lemon liqueur, dried fruit and sugar. Having done this he obtained a compound that enclosed between two layers of dough to which he gave the shape of the cap of the nuns. The Santarosa was born, whose recipe was jealously guarded until a nun revealed it to her pastry chef.
