Sorrento Roads, historic car race between Naples and the Sorrento Peninsula: where and when

An exciting event for motor enthusiasts comes to our region. From the 30 March at 2 April 2023, Will host the race of historic cars Sorrento Roads by 1000 Miglia, now in its second edition, which will cross i luoghi more beautiful than Campania.

On designated roads they will speed by 40 cars, modern and historic, all of breathtaking beauty to make the event unforgettable. In particular the cars produced until 1990 will have priority in the selection. The vincitore absolute of the competition will have the opportunity to participate in the Alpine Cup 2024.

The stages of the Sorrento Roads 2023

Sorrento, the start and finish city of the race

Sorrento is the point of departure and arrival of the competition. The city, which overlooks the characteristic marina, offers participants a unique experience through its streets, clubs, shops and typical artisans. Between places to visit there are Piazza Tasso, the Cathedral, the church of San Francesco with the renowned cloister, Corso Italia, the citrus groves and the seafront facing the bay of Naples.

The Gulf of Naples

The path of the competition it will also cross the Gulf of Naples, one of the most beautiful places in the world, which attracts tourists from all over the world every year. The Gulf is known for the Vesuvio, Capri, Ischia and Procida that surround it. The gulf has three large inlets: the small bay of Pozzuoli, the port of Naples and the bay of Castellammare. Participants will have to pass through the Bocca Grande, between Ischia and Capri, or through the Bocca Piccola, between Capri and Punta Campanella, to access the Gulf.

The Royal Palace of Caserta

The path it will also touch the Royal Palace of Caserta, one of the most beautiful palaces in the world. The Reggia, designed in the eighteenth century by Luigi Vanvitelli commissioned by Charles III of Bourbon, it represents the triumph of the Italian Baroque. The Reggia is famous for the King's and Queen's Apartments, the Palatine Library, the Pinacoteca and the Historical Archive. The park, divided into an Italian garden and an English garden, has an area of 120 hectares and a length of almost three kilometers.

The Amalfi Coast

The competition will end on the splendid Amalfi Coast, characterized by towns overlooking the sea, an unparalleled gastronomic tradition and a historical heritage of inestimable value. The coast, included in the list of FrUNESCO World Heritage Site, is characterized by high cliffs, enchanting coves and small bays, terraces of citrus fruits, vines, olive trees and artisans' shops.

The competition route will stretch from Positano in Vietri sul Mare, offering participants a scenario of great cultural and natural value.
