Il New Theater of Naples is a stable theater of innovation located in the Quartieri Spagnoli, in via Montecalvario, in a space where different theatrical genres have alternated over the centuries starting from the 700th century, from musical works to magazines, to comic theater to become the first theater of research and experimentation in Naples.
From the 2012 the New Theater has passed under the management of the Campano Public Theater, a circuit which also includes the Teatro Municipal Giuseppe Verdi of Salerno, the Teatro Comunale di Caserta and the Teatro Carlo Gesualdo di Avellino directed by Alfredo Balsamo who is also director of the Teatro Nuovo di Napoli.
Yesterday, 13 June, was presented new season of shows of the theater that will open, like last year, with an opera by Enzo Moscato, and it will last since September 2013 in April 2014. Once again the selected program is characterized by the contemporaneity of languages, new artistic experiments and the deep bond with the Neapolitan territory.
On the stage of the New Theatre many already established artists will alternate including Benedetto Casillo, Stefano Accorsi, Marco Paolini, Mariano Rigillo, Filippo Nigro, Renato Carpentieri and Antonio Casagrande, who will perform on already known texts by famous authors, such as Eduardo De Filippo, Enzo Moscato, Raffaele La Capria, Seneca, but also on emerging and original works, such as those by Pierpaolo Sepe, Antonio Latella, Marco Paolini, Moni Ovadia.
