Giorgio Albertazzi, Anna Mazzamauro and Milena Vukotic among the names on the bill of the 2013 / 2014 season of the Troisi Theater!
Il Troisi Theater It is in the Rione Lauro, Fuorigrotta district, and over the years it has undergone continuous transformations, until it was completely abandoned in the last two years.
This theater was, initially, a cinema, the Lauro cinema, dedicated to a second run or “red light” film program. It then became, in the 80s and 90s, a theater where mainly cabaret shows were represented. In the 90s it hosted a dance school with the name of Leopardi Theater, then closed after a few years.
Gradually the building was renovated and dedicated to the actor Massimo Troisi, shortly after his untimely death. For some time it was the symbol of the redevelopment of the Lauro district, a heavily degraded area, with a program entrusted to the actor Giacomo Rizzo but dedicated, mostly, to theatrical training.
From this year, on the occasion of the celebration of 60 years of Massimo Troisi, the theater was taken over by the company "Che Spettacolo sas" which renewed the organization by starting a regular season of shows, proposing for the year 2013/2014 a worthy selection of Neapolitan and Italian culture, with many famous artists of relief that will alternate on stage.
