Villa Floridiana al Vomero has been opened again: you can go back for a walk in the park!

After the surprising closure a few days ago, the Floridiana in Naples it reopened to the public, giving back its green spaces to all the inhabitants of Vomero, but also of the other districts, who wish walking outdoors in this particularly complicated period.

Following the DPCM of November 3, 2020, the park had closed its doors following a little too literally the provisions that indicate the suspension of “exhibitions and the opening services to the public of museums and other institutes and places of culture”. A bit strange decision since the Villa Floridiana is not configured as a museum, but inside there is the Duca di Martina Museum.

After the protest of the citizens, of which Gennaro New Year, president of the Hillside Values Committee was made spokesman, the Floridiana is now open again, but it can only be accessed from the entrance on via Cimarosa, because that of via Aniello Falcone is still closed.

Fortunately, despite the endemic lack of personnel, the park is once again accessible, as is the Bosco di Capodimonte despite the closure of the Museum inside.
