After the triumph of Donnarumma, Insigne and the other players Campania that brought Italy to the top of the EURO 2020, we focus our attention on the Tokyo Olympic Games that are preparing to open.

Tokyo 2020 will take place, according to the official calendar, from 23 July until 8 August 2021. We remind you that the event has been postponed for one year, in fact the original dates ran during the same period of 2020 but due to the pandemic it was not possible to carry out Olympic Games. The name, however, remains Tokyo 2020 for marketing reasons.

Alessandro Sibilio

He started his career in sports such as swimming and basketball but in 2009 he focused exclusively on athletics, particularly obstacles. Today he is one of the best Italian hurdler and sprinter. Among the latest awards he has obtained a gold medal in the 400m hurdles at the European Under 23 Championships in Tallinn 2020 and another gold medal at the European Under 18 Championships in Tbilisi 2016.

Raphaela Lukudo

Angela Carini

Angelo Crescenzo

Gennaro DiMauro

Gennaro di Mauro, the flagship of Italian rowing, began his competitive activity in 2015 and recently managed to set an important indoor rowing world record: he rowed for 30 minutes on the rower covering the distance of 9374 meters, maintaining an average pace of 1.36 every 500 meters, a new world class limit.

Vincent Abbagnale

Son of the former Italian rower Giuseppe Abbagnale, he began his career in the sector in 2004 at the age of 11. He enlisted in the Navy in 2014. Other successes followed and in 2018 he took part in the European Championships in Glasgow (Scotland), finishing in 4th place in the Four without specialty.

Marco DiCostanzo

He began his passion for this sport at the age of ten, following in the footsteps of his brother (Fabio Di Costanto, a well-known rower). Among the awards obtained we find the bronze medal obtained at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

He participated in Tokyo 2020 to replace Bruno Rosetti who tested positive for COVID-19 a few days before the start of the competition.

Stephanie Pirozzi

Christine Chirichella

The volleyball player, who plays in AGIL, began her career in 2010 by joining the Italian federation of Club Italia, thus participating in the Serie B1 championship. He made his debut in professional volleyball in 2012 with Robursport Volley Pesaro in Serie A1.

He won three Italian Cups with AGIL Volley in Novara, the 2016-17 championship, the 2017 Italian Super Cup and the 2018-19 Champions League. In addition, he earns the silver medal at the 2017 World Grand Prix, replicating the victory during the 2018 world championship and the bronze medal during the 2019 European championship.

Monica DeGennaro

After starting her career at Libertas Sorrento, in 2002 she was acquired by Vicenza Volley in Serie A1. After other moves, during the 2004-05 season he plays the role of free. Later she was summoned to the senior national team where she won the bronze medal at the World Grand Prix.

Among his recent victories he obtains four league titles, the MVP award in the 2018-19 edition, four Italian Super Cups, three Italian Cups, obtaining the title as MVP, the 2019 World Club Championship and the 2020-21 Champions League. In addition, he wins silver at the 2017 World Grand Prix and the bronze medal at the 2019 European championship.

Luca Curatoli

Scarlett Gregorio
