Pignataro Maggiore, a municipality in the province of Caserta, prepares for the resurgence of the traditional Feast of Ancient Flavors. This event, planned by 6 to 10 July 2023, focuses on the promotion of typical dishes but also on sharing the importance of solidarity.

The celebration, which has the its twentieth edition, will take place in the suggestive locality of Partignano, in Via Aldo Moro. The event is an initiative of the association "Together for the Unity of Peoples", which invites participants to discover and appreciate the abundance of agri-food products from theAgro Caleno.

What do you eat at the Ancient Flavors Festival?

The opening of the stands on the evenings of the event offers the opportunity to experience a wide variety of gastronomic specialities. These include traditional dishes such as:

  • Pettole And Beans: Leavened dough pancakes served with beans, a tasty dish from Puglia.
  • Local dessert: Without specifying a location, it is difficult to give an accurate description. You could indicate a region to get more specific information.

  • Litter pizza: Thin and crunchy pizza originally from Campania, topped with tomato, olive oil, oregano and cheese.

In addition to gastronomic delights, the event features a lineup of live entertainment from July 6-10, including performances by the quartet “Neapolitan Sonorities”, “Tribunal New Band”, “Due Quarti”, “Dissolute” and “Live Band Bartolo Valerio”.

However, the Festival of Ancient Flavors goes beyond a simple gastronomic and cultural celebration. Solidarity is at the heart of this event. Proceeds go to support the “Water Source of Life” project of the AMU, aimed at the construction of an aqueduct in Ruyigi, Burundi, improving access to drinking water for the local community.

The Festa dei Sapori Antichi embodies the essence of the Association "Together for the Unity of Peoples", who believes in the importance of putting it into practice solidarity. With parking spaces available to accommodate large numbers of visitors, the event attracts attendees from across the Campania region and beyond.
