Aselmeyer Castle in Naples

The Castle

Il neomedieval Aselmeyer castle (or Grifeo castle of the princes of Partanna) site in corso Vittoria Emanuele in the Chiaia district, is the work ofAnglo-Neapolitan architect Lamont Young with inspiration for Gothic architecture and the "Elizabethan" and "Tudor" eras.

The castle, built in 1902, was bought by the banker Carlo Aselmeyer. Over time the rooms of the castle have been progressively divided in order to obtain more private apartments. The exterior is entirely covered with arches made of volcanic stone, while the interiors are all in wood.
