At the Catacombs of San Gennaro there will be openings every Saturday evening for the whole month of August!
Ad August 2016, all the Saturday night, Catacombs of San Gennaro the Aperivisita will be held, an event that includes at the end of the visit a tasting of the typical gastronomic products of the Rione Sanità and a taste of DUBL, one sparkling wine born from the experimentation of the "classic method" on grapes of the Campania tradition.
What's more mysterious than a journey in which the sacred joins the profane in search of the bond of faith between the Neapolitan city and the patron saint? A journey through the fascinating catacombs arranged on two non-overlapping levels, a journey back in time to discover streets, basilicas, ancient sepulchres carved into the volcanic rock, arcosoli, fabulous mosaics including the one dating back to the XNUMXth century representing the bishop of Carthage San Quodvultdeus and extremely interesting frescoes, such as those of Bitalia and Cerula dating back to the XNUMXth-XNUMXth century AD
