At San Valentino 2016 exceptional opening of the Purgatory Complex in Arco with visit and tasting!
For 14 February 2016, the day of Valentine's day, the Museum Complex Santa Maria delle Anime of Purgatory in Arco will open for one exceptional visit with tasting: Anim ... loved, the love of the soul.
The visits, with reservations required, will start every 45 minutes and will give the opportunity to admire the museum, the church and the hypogeum. During the visit there will be a tasting of delicious sweets, i love knots.
The church, consecrated in 1638, was called "ad Arco" in memory of an arch at the intersection of via Tribunali, via Nilo and via Atri. It is spread over two levels, the upper church which refers to the earthly dimension and the hypogeum it representsat the Purgatory. The museum houses artifacts related to the sacred mass and religious life, but also objects related to devotional practices and manuscripts concerning payments, expense records, notarial deeds from the Historical Archive of the Opera Pia Purgatorio in Arco, dating back to the XNUMXth century.
It attracts citizens and tourists above all for the fascinating history of Lucia, the lover who died in a shipwreck whose soul, it is said, can intercede for us earthly and grant graces.
