Guided evening visit to the Catacombs of San Gennaro: an artistic-cultural journey followed by a gastronomic tasting in the historic womb of the underground Naples

There is a hidden Naples, to be discovered and it is the Naples underground, historical testimony of the Greco-Roman period. In this area, Sunday, November 23, a special evening guided tour will be organized at Catacombs of San Gennaro, a cemetery complex that houses the relics of the patron saint and beyond.

The original structure has undergone several transformations and extensions over time. The entrance to the catacombs is located near the Incoronata church in Capodimonte and through a staircase leads to the second floor where there is the oldest known portrait of San Gennaro.
As you proceed through ambulatories, tunnels and galleries where you can admire ancient frescoes, the crypt of the bishopswhere 14 illustrious bishops were buried and the 'maior' basilica which has three naves and is dug entirely into the tuff.

This special guided tour will propose not only an artistic-cultural itinerary, but also one gastronomic tasting. At the end of the route, in fact, visitors can taste the traditional dishes of the Neapolitan cuisine.

A magical evening between fede and mystery not to be missed.
