After the extraordinary success of the events that were held during the 2017 summer they were, in fact, confirmed the first dates of the 2018 guided evening tours with aperitif, in this suggestive place where you can discover the underground of the city and the close bond of faith between the city and its patron San Gennaro.

The AperiVisita to the Catacombs of San Gennaro: a journey into the subsoil of Naples

THEAperiVisit to the Catacombs of San Gennaro it extends on both levels of the Catacombs of San Gennaro, including both the upper catacomb, be that one lower, two non-overlapping layers, characterized by extremely large spaces, thanks to the workability and solidity of the tuff. Visitors will only have to get off one hundred steps to travel back in time and access the underworld, where from the 2nd century AD are still found Catacombs, that is, the burials, of saints like San Gennaro, the current patron of Naples, of Sant'Agrippino, the first patron of Naples, the Crypt of the Bishops, but also of common individuals, belonging to different social classes. It is estimated that, within the Catacombs of San Gennaro, there are ben 3mila burials, not counting those not yet brought to light.

During the visit you can also admire the splendid Basilica of Sant'Agrippino, a hypogean church dug in the tuff where Mass is still celebrated, and the baptismal font commissioned by bishop Paul II, who took refuge in the Catacombs of San Gennaro in the eighth century due to iconoclastic struggles.
