To regulate the huge influx of tourists in the center of Naples, a Pedestrian Area is established during the 2015 Christmas period.

The Old Town it is generally the most crowded place and the pedestrian device mainly involves those streets.

  • from via Duomo, the recommended entry to the Decumani is via San Biagio ai Librai

Furthermore a unique pedestrian way right in via San Gregorio Armeno with direction of travel from the intersection with Via San Biagio dei Librai to the intersection with Piazza San Gaetano. It will be active until 3 January 2016 according to times indicated by the municipal ordinance.

Traffic device

Until January 8th will be active a 'Pedestrian area and a temporary traffic device limiting access to cars in the streets of the ancient center, which will follow i following times:

  • from 16,00 to 24,00 every day of the week until 8 January 2016
  • from 8,00 to 14,00 on Thursday 24 December 2015, Friday 25 December 2015, Saturday 26 December 2015, Thursday 31 December 2015 and Friday 1 January 2016

and it will be valid in the following roads:

  • via San Pietro a Maiella, via del Sole, via dei Tribunali (from piazza Miraglia to via Duomo), vico Purgatorio ad Arco (stretch between vicolo Pellegrino and via dei Tribunali), piazza San Gaetano, piazza San Gregorio Armeno, piazza Gerolomini, vico Cinquesanti, vico Giganti, vico Gerolomini

In the ordinance of the municipality are indicated the exceptions to the prohibition. In general, access to vehicles will be allowed to residents, to emergency vehicles, to those accompanying the disabled.
