'A Chiena 2015, Water Festival in Campagna (SA)

For the summer of 2015 the city of Campagna will be the protagonist of the Water Festival with many games and activities!

From 18 July at 17 August 2015, for every Saturday and Sunday, the Country town it will be the location of "'A Chiena", the rich event dedicated to water and its importance.

The event, organized by the Pro Loco Città di Campagna, comes from the artificial deviation of the course of the Tenza river and its consequent overflow. A popular event this, which is repeated every year and that was originally used to clean up the streets and shops in the city.

Today the initiative has become a real party with a rich program of activities divided into three main phases. We will then start with the "Secchiata", where the participants in bathing suits and buckets, will have fun throwing water on themselves to find relief from the heat and enjoy a refreshing bath.

We will continue with the "Walk", where citizens and tourists will walk barefoot, and with water at the ankles, between the streets and the main street of the city. And finally, at midnight, there will be the "Midnight's Fish", that is a last flood of the Campagna between musical performances, games, food and wine itineraries, art, and many other entertainment.

Furthermore each weekend will be the protagonist of specific themes which respectively will be the "Ecological Chiena", sport, the "War of Colors", children and solidarity. Many events dedicated to young and old aimed at enhancing the value of water, a necessary primary asset and of inestimable importance.

  • Sunday: "Walks" from 12: 00 to 13: 00 | "Secchiate" from 15: 00 to 16: 00
  • In the 16 and 17 August days the traditional "Midnight's Night" will take place
