The Spazio Intolab in Naples organizes a course to manage sustainable urban gardens on roofs, balconies and terraces!

Lo Intolab space in Naples organizes a urban horticulture course which will take place from 13 April at 18 May 2017. What better time than spring, in fact, to test your green thumb?

The lessons will allow learn how to manage city gardens on terraces, roofs and vertical walls of balconies. An expert in the field will explain in six meetings the fundamental principles of this art, passing through the organic fertilization of the soil, the biological struggle in green areas, the hydroponic cultivation technique.

It will also be taught how to build a vegetable garden soilless using recycled and waste materials. It will thus be possible to give free rein to creativity, experimenting with ways to make the most of the home corners dedicated to plants. The course will take place on Thursday evening at the Spazio Intolab headquarters and at its conclusion there will be an "aperitif in the garden". The first lesson is free.

13th April

Community gardens in urban areas and their multi-functional role. Soil cultivation techniques (roofs, terraces, vertical balcony gardens). Hydroponics and aquaponics.

20th April

Soil processing. Sowing and transplanting. Choice of varieties.

27th April

Agro-ecological management of urban gardens and off-ground. Leaf, root and fruit diseases. Bio fungicides and bio amendments. The biological struggle in the vegetable garden: useful insects and natural insecticides.
