On the occasion of Easter 2023, starting from 6 April the circulation of cars and motorbikes on the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida will be prohibited. It is a provision decided by the Ministry of Transport which, however, has specified that there may be possible exceptions to the ban but what they must be evaluated and granted only by the Prefect of Naples, and therefore only in case of necessity and cleared emergency.
Furthermore, once the possibility of circulating by car and motorbike has been granted, you cannot exceed 48 hours of stay on the island. Consequently, those who want to celebrate Easter and Easter Monday on the islands will have to do so by leaving their private means of transport on land.
How to obtain an exemption from the traffic stop
If you need to request a derogation from the stop to circulation you will have to present the requests together with substitute declarations to the Prefecture of Naples. In particular, the applications must be delivered to the acceptance office located in Piazzetta Carolina il Monday and Wednesday from 09: 00 at 13: 00.

The application can be sent by completing of the forms available on the official website of the Prefecture of Naples, in particular you will have to go to the section Boarding Islands -Limitations on influx and circulation. The documents you need are the following:
- Application downloadable from the Prefecture's website
- Self-declaration filled in in every field
- Photocopy of the registration document of the vehicle for which the derogation is being requested
- Photocopy of the identification document
- Documentation supporting the request certifying the "ascertained and real need and urgency"
The question will be then evaluated by the Prefect of Naples who will be the only one who can decide whether to accept the request.
