At the Tango Station will make the Mergellina Station a magical and evocative place, where to dance tango until late evening

On Saturday 31 May, Mergellina Station will be transformed into an incredible dance floor where an evening of dancing to the sounds of tango will take place , which everyone can participate in free of charge!

Alla Stazione del Tango is the project conceived by Rosario Massa , owner of one of the most famous clubs on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, El Sombrero , who wanted to revive one of the “historic” stations of the city of Naples, that of Mergellina, where currently only the local metropolitan service is carried out, as it is no longer connected to Rome Termini station.

In recent years, Mergellina Station has lost its splendor and its role as the city's nerve center, but its monumentality continues to be considered a site of historical and cultural interest. To see it flourish again, and to attract visitors again, Rosario Massa recently opened a branch of his El Sombrero restaurant and pub there , and has created a music and dance event that will become a weekly fixture.

The "Alla Stazione del Tango" project was created in collaboration with Gaetano Di Matteo and Ciro Lanotte, with the aim of highlighting the beauty of Naples' historical and cultural sites through the promotion of dance and musical events. The event will transform Mergellina Station into a charming and sophisticated venue, a magical and timeless place, where starting Saturday, May 31st, dancing will take place from 19:30 PM until late.

The evening will be accompanied by a bar service provided by El Sombrero Lounge Bar and some artistic and musical contributions offered by the artist and painter Nadia Basso , who will exhibit her works inside the building, and the singer-songwriter Sergio Simone De Simone , who will perform live, revisiting some of the most famous classic Neapolitan music pieces in a tango version.

At the Tango Station, it's an unmissable opportunity for tango enthusiasts, but also for anyone who wants to discover how our city's landmarks regain their splendor when they come alive with engaging artistic, musical, and cultural events.
