TangoNeta 2015, Tango Festival at the Petraio in Naples

The 2015 TangoNeta festival will take place between the premises of the Porto del Petraio and the Church of San Giuseppe delle Scalze

Tango dancers from all over Naples, get your shoes ready, because from March 25th to 29th 2015 the TangoNeta Festival arrives , completely dedicated to this sensual and choreographic dance of South American origin.

Specifically, the Festival will take place in the Porto Petraio venues , a space in Vomero reserved for the arts in general, and the church of San Giuseppe delle Scalze . It will last five days and will feature workshops, practices, milongas with live music, lessons for beginners, private lessons to study the topic, and photography exhibitions to provide a historical overview.

Tango, a term perhaps derived from the Latin verb "tangere" (to touch), is an improvised dance that incorporates music, dance, lyrics, and song. It is structured into various figures in which the man guides the woman through body language , encircling her back with his right hand while she follows him in a passionate frontal embrace.

Tango is generally danced at a milonga , and even in Naples, dance evenings are often held, especially outdoors in the summer. A special milonga was even dedicated to Pope Francis on his birthday.
